A Rising Star Speaks 🌟 💻 Dmitry Lipilin, a 10th grader from Neryungri's School No. 22, took home the "Best Developer" award. Lipilin shared his thoughts on his well-deserved victory:
"Persistence and hard work got me here. I worked tirelessly throughout the night; I didn't dare take a break until the project was complete. My efforts were well worth it, as I was ecstatic to win first place in this hackathon. This was my second time participating; last year's experience gave me the motivation to continue growing professionally and clinch the top spot this time around. I'm passionate about IT and eager to further develop my skills in this thrilling field."
The IT hackathon marked the second iteration of the event at the school's IT lab. Let the epic programming battles continue!
Last year, the Engineering and Technology Lyceum No. 24 in Neryungri won the coveted "INNOSFERA 2023" grant competition, thanks to the generous support of Elga Coal. This grant helped establish children's innovative centers in the Russian Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). A cutting-edge tech park, known as "Kvantorium," was established within the lyceum and equipped with the latest technology. Elga Coal provided the hefty sum of 10 million rubles towards the project's realization.
Based on the IT laboratory, a whopping 15 IT and engineering projects are currently underway. The lab has even added a new focus on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), with several student groups already working diligently on UAV-related projects. The IT lab hosts classes for 5th and 6th graders, and students have even had the opportunity to attend conferences nationwide!
A Glimpse at the Lab's Success 📈 💼 Sergey Deminov, head of the "School Technopark Kvantorium," shared the exciting progress made at the lab this year:
- "Elga Coal’s generous sponsorshipsupport has been instrumental in securing a grant and additional funds for the lab. We used the funds to buy a 3D printer. Elga Coal also partners with us for professional orientation sessions, encouraging students to chase careers in technical fields and work at the company" explained Deminov.
Staying true to the lab's ever-expanding vision, it continues to mentor and support innovative projects, giving enthusiastic young developers the opportunity to make a difference in their community and be part of a thriving technological movement.
