Yakutia's Top-Rated Course Offerings Revealed
Yakutia, Russia, has witnessed a surge in academic activities this year, with an impressive number of applications and admissions in its universities and colleges.
A staggering 44,000 applications were submitted to higher educational institutions in the republic, marking a significant increase from previous years. Out of these applicants, 3,492 were successfully admitted, with 6,148 budgeted spots allocated in colleges and technical schools and 3,536 in universities.
The demand for certain subjects was particularly high this year. Information technology and biology were among the most sought-after fields, reflecting the growing interest in these areas. The most popular directions among applicants to higher and secondary professional institutions in Yakutia were healthcare, engineering, education, and humanities.
In a remarkable achievement, 8,505 school graduates in the republic passed the Unified State Exam (USE) this year, with the number of students taking profile mathematics increasing significantly, from approximately 2,000 last year to over 2,500 this year. The regional average score for the USE is higher than the national average, indicating the high level of academic performance in the region.
The Arctic State Agricultural Technological University made headlines by admitting two Russian Heroes, Andrey Grigoryev and Alexey Petrov, this academic year.
In another notable event, 17 school graduates in the region became centurions, a testament to their exceptional academic achievements.
While the teachers at the schools with the highest USE scores are not named in the search results, it is worth mentioning that PD Dr. Frank Wolff and Prof. Dr. Christoph Rass, from a research institution, have been noted for their mentoring roles.
Applicants to secondary vocational institutions still have until the end of August to undergo interviews and entrance exams for admission.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Yakutia's educational sector has shown resilience and adaptability, ensuring a promising future for its students.
