University of the Lower Rhine student honored by local savings bank with an award
The annual award presented by Sparkasse Mönchengladbach and Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) honours outstanding Bachelor's and Master's theses in banking and finance. Established in 2012, this award aims to recognise and encourage excellent academic work that contributes to understanding and solving challenges in the banking sector, fostering collaboration between science and business.
This year, the award went to Max Müller, a part-time student at HSNR who also works as a bank clerk at Sparkasse Mönchengladbach. Müller's thesis, which focused on the impact of the digital euro on Sparkasse Mönchengladbach, was recognised as exceptional by the Sparkasse and was one of the honoured works in the annual award.
Antonius Bergmann, the chairman of the board for Förderverein Wirtschaftswissenschaften Hochschule Niederrhein e.V., expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration between academia and business, citing Müller's work as an example. Bergmann also expressed gratitude towards Professor Müller for his contributions to this collaboration.

Müller's thesis was presented with a 1,500 Euro prize by Professor Dr. Bernd Müller and Antonius Bergmann, the Chairman of the Board of Sparkasse. Müller is currently working at the Rheindahlen branch of Sparkasse Mönchengladbach.
