United Nations Ocean Conference Announces 2025 Blue Park Award Recipients at the Conference

🌊 Blue Wonders diagnosed for top-notch conservation: 🌊

Bonjour, Nice, 12 Juin 2025 - Quatre zones marines protégées exceptionnelles (ZMP) ont remporté des Prix Mauve Ocean aujourd'hui à la 3 Conférence des Nations Unies sur l'Océan. Les ZMP récompensées sont : Parque Nacional Cahuita (Costa Rica), Parque Nacional Natural Gorgona (Colombie), Island Reserve Kaho'olawe (Hawaï, États-Unis), et Réseau de Zone Marine Protégée Shark Fin Bay (Taytay, Philippines).

Ces zones marines ont gagné le Prix Mauve Ocean pour leur entrée de grande envergure dans la conservation de la biodiversité marine et rejoignent un réseau mondial de 34 ZMP incontestables dans la lutte contre la perte de biodiversité marine.

Les gagnants ont été sélectionnés par un precedés par les chercheurs en conservation marine convokés par l'Institut de Conservation Marine, basé aux États-Unis. Les prix sont décernés en fonction du standard Mauve, un cadre de juge de l'efficacité des ZMP qui s'appuie solide sur les données scientifiques. Les nouvelles ZMP recouvrent environ 1 074 km^{2} (414 mi^{2}) de mer, portant lasurface du réseau Mauve à près de 3,5 million de km^{2} (1,35 million de mi^{2}) de mers qui sont effectivement protégées dans au moins 23 pays.

La remise des Prix Mauve Ocean a été faite par Dr. Lance Morgan, président de l'Institut de Conservation Marine; à un événement haut placé conjointement avec la République de Costa Rica, la Haute Coalition de Haute Ambition pour la Nature et le Peuple, MigraMar, EarthEcho International, et The Blue Quest.

"Le prix Mauve Ocean décerné à Parque Nacional Natural Gorgona est un tournant qui confirme la valeur de la conservation de la vie dans toutes ses formes", a déclaré Luisz Olmedo Martínez Zamora, Directeur de Colombie National Natural Parks (PNNC). "Cette Zone Marine Protégée est un refuge pour une biodiversité extraordinaire et un symbole de notre comité de la paix avec la nature. Les Mauve Ocean 2025 rejoint le Réseau Mauve, comprenant des ZMP exceptionnelles et des champions océaniques de partout au monde. Comme la communauté de conservation mondiale se bat pour protéger au moins 30% des zones côtières et marines par 2030 (30×30), les ZMP Mauve sont des exemples exceptionnels de conservation de la biodiversité qui encouragent des actions accélérées.

Nous ne n'agissons pas que de restaurer les écosystèmes mais aussi d'assurer l'accès aux ressources marines et insulaires traditionnelles pour la préservation de la culture", a déclaré Michael Naho‘opi‘i, Directeur exécutif, Commission pour la Réserve d'Ile Kaho‘olawe.

Parc Nacional del Cocos (Costa Rica) a également été reconnu lors de l'événement pour son amélioration de la conservation. Il a gagné un niveau platine de prix Mauve cet année après avoir reçu un niveau d'or en 2019.

Cano Island Biological Reserve (Costa Rica) a également été reconnu comme le Zéphyrée Mauve en collaboration avec MigraMar, une organisation du secteur non lucratif consacrée à la recherche et la conservation des espèces marines migratoires.
