Tasmania Welcomes First 24/7 Security Operations Centre by Excite Cyber
Tasmania has welcomed its first privately owned, round-the-clock Cyber Security Operations Centre (SOC), launched by Cyber Firm Excite. Madeleine Ogilvie MP, Minister for Science and Technology, officiated the opening.
Excite aims to boost local Cyber Talent and contribute to Tasmania's workforce development. The SOC, led by Mark Hitchcock, Director of Operations, serves both Tasmanian and national Businesses. It follows growing awareness of Cybersecurity Skills Gaps in the region.
The SOC supports Excite's Sydney centre, delivering services nationwide. Mark Hitchcock, also Excite's COO, oversees the SOC's development and growth. Bryan Saba, Excite Cyber's founder, expressed the SOC's goal to strengthen defences and support local Small Business Ideas.
The SOC's launch marks a significant step in Tasmania's Cybersecurity Industry. It enhances regional defence, supports local Entrepreneurs, and fosters local talent. Excite's commitment to upskilling Tasmanians is evident in this initiative.
