Support Desk
Scripps Information Technology (SIT) is dedicated to supporting the biomedical research efforts of the Scripps research community by providing a range of IT services for complex IT issues.
If you encounter a problem that requires more than basic troubleshooting, you can submit a help request online or seek in-person assistance. In-person assistance is available by appointment or during walk-in hours, which are from 10:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Tuesday to Friday.
The detailed IT services provided by SIT include hardware repair, disk drive imaging, operating system re-installation, and application software re-installation, among others. These services ensure that the Scripps research community’s computing resources are maintained, restored, and optimized.
Disk imaging services, for instance, can be used to clone a computer’s hard drive, allowing for quick system restoration or deployment of standardized configurations. Reinstalling operating systems and application software helps resolve software-related issues, ensuring that researchers’ workstations and servers run the required software reliably.
Modern IT incident management also involves monitoring for hardware failures, software defects, network disruptions, and storage incidents to maintain stable operations.
For more specific or updated information about SIT’s service offerings, it's recommended to contact their IT support directly or visit their official internal resources.
The SIT service is located in Eckart Building, Room 150, 8755 Biological Grade, La Jolla, CA 92037. The service operates from 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
