The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the dates for the SSC Stenographer Written Examination, which will be held from the 6th to the 8th of August, 2025. The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 1590 Stenographer Grade C and D posts.
Downloading the SSC Stenographer Admit Card
Candidates can download their SSC Stenographer Admit Card from the official SSC website, ssc.gov.in. To access the admit card, follow these steps:
- Visit the SSC website.
- Click on the "Admit Card" tab.
- Select "Download E-Admit Card of Stenographer Grade 'C' and 'D' Examination, 2025".
- Enter your Registration Number and Password/Date of Birth.
- Click "Submit" and download the hall ticket.
It is essential to print two copies of the admit card for the exam day.
Important Instructions for the Test Day
Candidates are advised to adhere to the following instructions on the day of the examination:
- Carry the printed admit card (hall ticket).
- Bring an original photo ID (such as Aadhaar card, Passport, or Voter ID).
- Carry two passport-sized photographs.
- If a candidate has opted for an own scribe, download the separate Scribe Entry Pass when issued.
The SSC Stenographer Selection Process
The SSC Stenographer selection process consists of a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by a Skill Test in stenography. The CBT will be for a total of 200 marks, and there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
The question paper for the Stenographer Exam will be of objective type multiple choice questions and will be set both in English and Hindi.
The dates for the SSC Stenographer Skill Test have not yet been announced; they will be updated after the CBT, which is conducted from August 6 to 8, 2025. Candidates must qualify the CBT to be eligible for the Skill Test.
Candidates are advised to check all the crucial details on the hall ticket and inform the concerned authority in case of any error. They are also advised to avoid bringing electronics equipment including mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, or study materials to the examination center.
Candidates are encouraged to reach the examination center at least 60 minutes before reporting time.
