New Special Needs Schools Open in Bersenbrück and Bad Laer
After a period of uncertainty, the new school year has brought about a significant change in the educational landscape of Bersenbrück and Bad Laer, Germany. The establishment and operation of new special needs schools in both towns have been secured, thanks in part to the efforts of the SPD/UWG group in the district council.
In Bad Laer, the school operation will commence with a new 1st grade and an existing class from the Tabi system, grade 5. This marks the conversion of one class from the daycare center system in Bad Laer. The school's focus, as with all special needs schools, is on intellectual development, providing a nurturing environment for children with unique learning needs.
Similarly, in Bersenbrück, all existing classes before August 2025 will remain part of the daycare center, while new classes will become part of the new special needs school. This expansion ensures that the further development of the special needs schools in both towns has been successful.
The planning security for the facilities, employees, and above all the children and parents of both schools has been established. On-site talks were held with the directors of the daycare centers, Guido Uhl (Bersenbrück) and Hendrik Auf der Landwehr (Bad Laer), regarding the schools' establishment and operation.
Jutta Olbricht, chairperson of the SPD/UWG group in the district council, emphasized that joint action and cooperation lead to success. She highlighted the group's role in securing the daycare centers and the subsequent development of the special needs schools in Bersenbrück and Bad Laer.
The opening of these new schools is a testament to the commitment to inclusive education in these towns. From the next school year, there will be two schools operating in parallel at both facilities, providing a comprehensive educational experience for all children.
