School Bioblitz at Fairfield Project: Exploring Biodiversity Together

The Fairfield Project is gearing up for an exciting event in November 2025, with two major activities planned for school-age students and the wider community.

On Friday, 28 November 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Fairfield Project will host a Bioblitz for schools. This annual event is all about biodiversity monitoring and engagement, with hands-on projects designed to foster awareness and learning about local ecosystems. Schools interested in participating should coordinate with the Fairfield Project organizers, though specific registration details are yet to be announced[1].

But the excitement doesn't end there! On Saturday, 29 November 2025, the Fairfield Project will host a community festival. This event, too, will focus on biodiversity, restoration, and sustainability, offering a range of activities that celebrate aspects of native organisms, pest plants and animals, rongoaa, gardening, sustainability, kaitiakitanga, hauora, and more. Both the school Bioblitz and the community festival are free to attend[2].

To help make these events a success, the Fairfield Project is seeking volunteers. Whether you're an expert in the field or simply passionate about conservation, your help is needed to offer expertise, lead sessions, or provide assistance during the events[3].

For complete details on registration or how schools can join, checking the official Fairfield Project website or contacting the Science Learning Hub and the event organizers directly would be advisable[1]. You can find related content videos about the Fairfield Project and education on their platform[4].

So, mark your calendars for these exciting events taking place in the Waikato region! For more information or to get involved, visit the Fairfield Project's website at https://www.thefairfieldproject.co.nz/get-involved.
