Scholarships generously bestowed by the National Rifle Association granted to 2024 Y.E.S. students.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) has recently announced the winners of the 2024 Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.) Grand Scholarship. This annual event, launched in 1996, brings together high-achieving high school students in Washington, D.C., for a week-long programme focusing on the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and American government.
The Y.E.S. program offers college scholarships to top-performing participants. Last year, a total of $13,500 was given out. However, the winners of the Grand Scholarship for the Y.E.S. program in 2025 have not yet been announced publicly, and no specific names are currently available.
The NRA Foundation, established in 1990, supports the National Rifle Association and other organisations. It provides funding for the Y.E.S. program and the Grand Scholarship.
In addition to the academic focus, the Y.E.S. program encourages students to participate in community outreach activities such as hosting Eddie Eagle GunSafe programs, serving on Friends of NRA committees, and speaking at local civic organisations.
For those interested in applying for the Y.E.S. program, the schedule and application information can be found on the YES Program page. The submission deadlines for the 2025 Y.E.S. program applications will be available soon. Applications for the 2026 Y.E.S. program are not yet being accepted.
The Y.E.S. program provides students nine months to compete for the Grand Scholarship by introducing NRA programs in their hometowns and submitting a comprehensive portfolio. The 2024 Y.E.S. program will take place from July 22 to July 27.
The NRA Foundation's activities also include educating the public about firearms in their historical, technological, and artistic contexts. They promote firearm and hunting safety, enhance shooting sports, and educate the public about firearms.
Parents and high school sophomores and juniors are encouraged to visit the YES Program page for more information. Full last names of the recipients are omitted to protect their privacy.
This year's Y.E.S. class Grand Scholarship recipients, from the previous year, include Maggie P. from Pennsylvania ($5,000); Nate C. from Virginia ($4,000); Haylee T. from North Carolina ($2,000); Logan P. from Missouri ($750); and Logan E. from Oklahoma ($750).
For those who are passionate about the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and American government, the Y.E.S. program offers a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and potentially receive a college scholarship.
