Scholarships for Immigrants in Kaarst
Rhein-Kreis Neuss Migrant Scholarship Honours Successful and Engaged Migrants
The Rhein-Kreis Neuss migrant scholarship is a program designed to support and recognise migrants who have made significant contributions to society in Germany. This scholarship, which offers a cash prize to successful participants, aims to inspire and guide future graduates with a migration background.
To be eligible, applicants must be migrants residing in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss district, demonstrate success in their professional, academic, or social endeavours, and show active engagement in social, cultural, or community activities that benefit society. Scholarship holders are required to have lived in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss for at least three years and must either already possess or aspire to German citizenship.
Arman Dadbeh, a 19-year-old from Iran living in Kaarst, is one such recipient. After completing his Abitur with a grade of 1.0 at the Marie-Curie-Gymnasium in Neuss, Arman plans to begin a medical degree at a German university in the winter semester 2023/24. He became aware of the migrant scholarship through an acquaintance and was inspired to apply.
Arman's experiences in Iran, where he advocated for participation and democracy throughout his school career, drove him to make a difference in his new home. In the school years 2021/22 and 2022/23, he was the student speaker of the Marie-Curie-Gymnasium. He also participated in the community project "Politik brandaktuell" and was awarded a cash prize of 2000 euros by the jury.
The Rhein-Kreis Neuss migrant scholarship is a way for successful migrants to give back to their community and share their experiences. Scholarship holders regularly visit schools to share their stories with future graduates who have a migration background. This scholarship is a testament to the district's commitment to supporting and empowering migrants.
