In a bid to educate children about climate change and its solutions, the district of Neuwied in Germany is distributing a large-format climate protection poster starting in December. The poster, which is printed on Blue Angel paper in an environmentally friendly manner, is a collaborative effort between the "Energy Climate Environment" department of Neuwied, the German Environmental Aid (Deutsche Umwelthilfe e.V.), and other local organisations.

The climate protection poster is designed to inform children about the basics of climate change, its causes, consequences, and potential solutions. It is intended to be a teaching aid that can be integrated into lessons, supplemented with digital materials provided on the MINTcampus-NR learning platform in the coming months.

The topics covered by the poster are tailored to different educational levels, making it accessible for children of various ages. The district's climate protection manager, Janine Sieben, expresses hope for successful communication about climate change to children.

The project, led by Janine Sieben and supported by District Administrator Achim Hallerbach, Climate Adaptation Manager Angelina Zahn, Education Referent Andrea Oosterdyk, and Karsten Rodigast from the district media center, aims for much support from the public for its success.

While Rhineland-Palatinate is developing a climate protection tool for education, specific details about this tool were not found in the search data provided. For precise details, checking official Rhineland-Palatinate government websites or dedicated educational/environmental platforms would be necessary.

The district's climate protection poster can be downloaded from the district administration's homepage and the climate protection portal. It will be sent to primary schools, secondary schools, special needs schools, and libraries across the district.

This initiative is part of Neuwied's commitment to environmental education and climate protection, aligning with the broader efforts of Rhineland-Palatinate to support sustainability projects and promote climate awareness.
