Prairie Science Class Receives Regional Award for Exceptional Electricity Engineering Support by an Organization
The Prairie Science Class (PSC), an education partnership between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Prairie Wetlands Learning Center and The Fergus Falls Independent School District 544, has been honoured with a prestigious award from the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE).
The PSC was recognized as the recipient of the Outstanding Service to Environmental Education (EE) by an Organization (Regional Level) award in 2015. This accolade is given to organisations that have made significant contributions to environmental education within a specific region.
The North American Association for Environmental Education, a leading organisation in environmental education, has been promoting excellence and impact in environmental education for over four decades. The PSC's mission aligns perfectly with this mission, as it explores the prairie pothole ecosystem and manages the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center.
The award was presented at a special reception during the NAAEE's 44th Annual Conference in San Diego. Judy Braus, the Executive Director of the NAAEE, was among those who celebrated the PSC's achievement.
Teachers from the Fergus Falls district are stationed at the Learning Center, coordinating instructional activities with their teaching peers at Cleveland Elementary School. The PSC's work is further supported by Student Conservation Association interns and environmental education specialists from the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center.
The recipients of the 2015 awards represent progress in various disciplines and approaches within environmental education. For more information about the awards, including eligibility requirements and a full list of winners, visit the NAAEE's website at www.ourwebsite/programs/leadership/awards.
The NAAEE is supported by its members, supporters, and affiliate organizations. The Prairie Science Class (PSC), in line with its mission, continues to make strides in the realm of environmental education, also expanding into education-and-self-development via online-education and learning opportunities. Its significant contributions have not only been recognised by the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) but also seen it honoured with the Outstanding Service to Environmental Education (EE) by an Organization (Regional Level) award in 2015.
