Postponement of NEET PG 2025 Announced, Citing Supreme Court Directive; Anticipated New Date Will Be Announced Soon

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced that the revised date for the NEET PG 2025 exam will be on August 3, 2025, in a single shift. The original exam date, which was scheduled for June 15, 2025, was postponed due to a directive from the Supreme Court of India, mandating a single uniform shift to ensure fairness and transparency.

Following the order, NBEMS revised the schedule, and the exam will now be held from 9 am to 12:30 pm in a single session. Candidates are advised to stay updated via official NBEMS websites and follow the new timelines accordingly.

Key updated timelines include:

- Candidates must reselect their preferred exam city between June 13 (3 pm) and June 17 (11:55 pm). - The application correction window is from June 20 to June 22, 2025. - Exam city intimation slips will be released on July 21, 2025. - Admit cards will be available from July 31, 2025. - Results and merit lists are expected to be declared by September 3, 2025.

The Supreme Court rejected the initial two-shift plan by NBEMS, emphasizing that question papers in different shifts cannot be ensured to have equal difficulty, thus disadvantaging some candidates. Despite infrastructural challenges cited by NBEMS, the court insisted on a single-shift exam in a technologically capable country like India.

Candidates are advised to avoid believing in rumours or unofficial information circulating on social media. NEET PG 2025 FAQs are available for candidates to clarify their queries. City Intimation Slips, initially due to be released this week, may be delayed or reissued based on the updated schedule.

NEET PG is the national-level entrance examination for admission into MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses in India. Conducted annually by NBEMS under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, over 1.5 lakh candidates appear for the NEET PG exam every year.

Candidates are advised to continue their exam preparation, as the new date could be announced any day. New admit cards will be issued once the revised exam date is finalized. Candidates are advised to monitor the official NBEMS website (https://natboard.edu.in) for updates.
