Postponement of NEET PG 2025 Announced After Supreme Court Decision; Date for Rescheduled Exam to Be Announced Promptly

NEET PG 2025 Exam to be Held in a Single Shift, Revised Date Set for August 3

The Supreme Court of India has ordered the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to conduct the NEET PG 2025 exam in a single shift to ensure fairness and uniformity. The revised date for the exam has been set for August 3, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

The original NEET PG 2025 date was June 15, 2025, with the exam scheduled to be conducted in two shifts. However, following a Supreme Court directive on May 30, 2025, the exam was postponed and mandated to be held in a single shift to prevent issues caused by the two-shift format.

NBEMS requested the Supreme Court to allow the exam to be conducted on August 3, 2025, to make necessary arrangements such as creating new centers and implementing security measures. The Supreme Court agreed, and the new date has been finalized.

Admit cards for the NEET PG 2025 exam were released on July 31, 2025. However, City Intimation Slips, initially due to be released this week, may be delayed or reissued based on the updated schedule.

The Supreme Court's orders also mandate the implementation of a nationally synchronized counselling calendar, the publication of raw scores, answer keys, and normalization formulae, and the enforcement of Aadhaar-based tracking to curb seat blocking and impose strict penalties on offenders.

The postponement of NEET PG 2025 adds to a string of concerns raised in recent years regarding entrance exams in India, including fairness in multiple-shift exams, technical glitches, question paper leaks, and pressure on students due to frequent policy changes.

Despite the postponement, candidates are advised to continue their exam preparation as the new date could be announced any day. It is crucial for candidates to stay updated with official announcements from NBEMS and avoid believing in rumors or unofficial information circulating on social media.

NEET PG is the national-level entrance examination for admission into MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses in India. The exam serves as a critical step for aspiring doctors to secure their careers in the medical field. The Supreme Court's intervention is being seen as a positive move by many aspirants, who had earlier expressed doubts about the transparency of the examination system.

Social media users should be wary of unofficial information regarding the NEET PG 2025 exam, as it may lead to confusion among candidates. The shift to online education and self-development can provide valuable resources for exam preparation, but it is important to verify the authenticity of information before relying on it. The Supreme Court's directive to enforce Aadhaar-based tracking in the NEET PG 2025 exam highlights the growing use of technology in the field of education and science, aiming to address concerns such as seat blocking and fraud.
