Post-Autumn Holidays Occupancy of Certain Rooms: Cuno I & II
The school is set to resume in-person teaching after the autumn holidays, with several facilities set to reopen for use. According to the school director, Martina Soddemann, the car workshop, woodworking shop, and toilets will be usable again after the break.
In a recent update, Martina Soddemann outlined the upcoming tasks, revealing that the reuse of components B and D is in progress. This reuse will make 47 rooms usable again, bringing a significant change to the school's capacity.
The building director, Henning Keune, explained that the renovation of component A, which requires a general overhaul, will not be usable in the near future. However, the renovation is expected to be completed by April 30, 2026, with various modernizations ongoing, including track and signal works, similar to the large-scale renovation project being managed by Deutsche Bahn (DB) on the Hamburg–Berlin route.
Meanwhile, the woodworking shop will be usable again after the autumn holidays. The installation of an external staircase as a second emergency exit has been done for components B and D, ensuring the safety of students and staff. Each of these components now has an external staircase installed, providing an additional exit in case of emergencies.
Unfortunately, no specific details are provided about the current status of the car workshop, woodworking shop, and toilets before the autumn holidays. However, the building director has assured that they will be functional after the break. Similarly, the status of the school's toilets will also improve, with them becoming usable again after the holidays.
This news brings a positive outlook for the school community, as they prepare to return after the holidays with improved facilities and a safer environment. The reopening of these facilities will undoubtedly contribute to a smoother transition back to in-person learning.
