Park University Expands Educational Offerings in National Security Studies and Cybersecurity

Park University is broadening its educational horizons, introducing new degree programs and certificates to cater to a variety of fields. Among the new offerings are a Master of Arts in National Security Studies and a cybersecurity concentration within the Bachelor of Science in Information and Computer Science program.

The Master of Arts in National Security Studies is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for careers in the security and intelligence sectors. This degree focuses on strategic, analytical, and operational aspects of national security, covering international relations, U.S. national security policy, arms control and disarmament, terrorism, geo-economics, environmental security, international law, regional security issues, and cybersecurity. The degree typically requires a bachelor's degree for admission.

On the other hand, the cybersecurity concentration in the Bachelor of Science Information and Computer Science program aims to train future security experts. The curriculum covers topics such as cryptography, computer system security, network security, web security, secure programming, security management, digital forensics, and ethical hacking and countermeasures. Admission requires high school completion or equivalent.

In addition to these programs, Park University is also offering three new graduate certificates in business analytics, marketing, and public accounting, and five undergraduate certificates in diversity and social justice, entrepreneurialism, personal finance, project management, and unmanned aircraft systems/drones. These certificates are not part of the Master of Arts in National Security Studies degree or the cybersecurity concentration in the Bachelor of Science Information and Computer Science program.

The Fall 2019 semester at Park University starts on August 19, 2019.
