Kristin Gillette has been appointed as the new Director of Athletics at Park University, taking over the reins following the retirement of Claude English after a 25.5-year stint. Gillette is set to begin her role on October 28, 2021.

Gillette brings a wealth of experience to Park University, having spent the last nine years at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in Kansas City, Missouri. During her tenure at the NAIA, she served as liaison to the Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion Committee from 2009-17, and on the New Member Site Visit Committee from 2015-17.

One of Gillette's most notable achievements at the NAIA was the creation of the Champions of Character Live 5 program. This initiative aimed to foster the health and well-being of student-athletes, a cause that Gillette has been passionate about throughout her career.

Prior to her time at the NAIA, Gillette honed her skills in game operations for various sports at MidAmerica Nazarene University. Here, she also served as the associate director of athletics/compliance and provided administrative oversight for Heart of America Athletic Conference and NAIA opening round championships hosted at the university.

Gillette's coaching experience in girls basketball is impressive, having served as head coach at The Barstow School for two years and assistant coach at The Pembroke Hill School for an additional two years. Under her leadership, The Barstow School team clinched the Missouri Class 3A state championships in 2005 and 2006.

Gillette holds a Master of Arts degree in sports administration from Gonzaga University and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from William Jewell College. She is a resident of Roeland Park, Kansas.
