The Head of State in Kazakhstan has initiated a project to modernize school infrastructure, aiming to upgrade the standards of 245 schools to comfortable, modern levels. This project, which began this year, focuses on improving learning conditions for over 95,000 students across the nation.

The project places particular emphasis on developing educational infrastructure in rural areas, where 146 schools are located. The modernization efforts encompass nine key areas: building renovation, subject classroom equipment, school furniture replacement, high-speed internet via fiber-optic lines, modern sports halls, libraries, dining rooms, modern security systems, and improving adjacent territories.

In cities, 99 schools are set to benefit from this project. The project includes modernizing libraries, sports halls, and dining rooms, in addition to implementing modern security systems and connecting schools to high-speed internet. Of the 245 schools, 214 will undergo capital repair, while 19 will undergo current repairs.

The project also includes the reconstruction of 12 schools and the replacement of school furniture in all modernized schools. The ultimate goal is to transition to a unified, modern school infrastructure format, with plans to renovate a total of 1,231 schools across all regions of Kazakhstan over the next three years.

Upon completion of the project, learning conditions will significantly improve for nearly 100,000 schoolchildren, helping to reduce the gap in education quality between urban and rural schools. This project forms part of a broader national program to enhance education quality and accessibility across Kazakhstan.
