The Chill Chats: Celebrating Marketing Pioneers at CIMG
The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) recognition event shined a spotlight on brilliant minds making waves in the marketing sector. The glamorous soiree, integrated with the 32nd CIMG Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Golden Tulip Hotel, provided a fitting platform to laud these trailblazers.
Thirty-two outstanding individuals, who dedicated their time and effort to acing their Professional Marketing Qualifications (PMQ), were applauded for their success. These high-achievers garnered accolades for impressive performances in single subjects, completion of specific Pathways (course levels), and by securing the overall best student positions at the various pathways. In total, 13 candidates were commended for their exceptional prowess.
Kicking off the event, Consulting Director of Education, Adam Sulley, deemed this success the "cherry on top of a well-deserved cake" for the diligent candidates after years of preparing for the maiden exams.
Mr. Sulley urged corporate organizations to give these budding marketing pros a chance to shine. He stated, "These dynamic individuals have demonstrated their abilities and capabilities to execute marketing tasks professionally, and as each of them completes the course in its entirety, they'll be fully-fledged, professional Marketers, ready to help bolster resilient product and corporate brands."
EPP Book Services happily sponsored certificates and a selection of marketing books for the various subject areas the honorees excelled in.
For Pathway 3, the Over-all Best Student Award was bestowed upon Dr. Bright Kyei Wiredu, a medical Doctor with entrepreneurial aspirations. Excitedly, he noted that this professional marketing qualification marked a pivotal step towards achieving his entrepreneurial goals and future endeavors, and he vowed to remain focused, aiming to transition into a professional Marketer as swiftly as possible.
Besides being the best student in Selling and Sales Management and completing Pathway 3, Dr. Wiredu received a total of three awards.
The evening's most illustrious honoree was Mr. Daniel Nomo, taking home five awards, along with a treasure trove of book prizes from EPP Book Services. He swept the Best Student in Strategic Marketing Management, Integrated Marketing Communications, Strategic Marketing in Practice, Overall Best Student in Pathway 5, and for successfully completing Pathway 5 as well.
Mr. Nomo expressed his joy at the recognition he has received since enrolling in the PMQ program. Speaking of the ceremony with marketing and HR managers present, he enthused, "It's a delightful moment, especially given that this is the inaugural exams. I'm thrilled to have snagged these five prizes and, most importantly, the acknowledgement from industry experts. The training was inspiring, and it significantly boosted my confidence."
With this PMQ experience under his belt, Mr. Nomo is optimistic about the future and eager to take up key roles in corporate strategy formulation and execution, values he believes are often absent in most organizations.
The June examinations for the next batch of candidates commenced on Monday, June 27, 2022, the first for the year 2022, and the second round of exams conducted by the CIMG.
The event also recognized the Professional Marketer (ProM) Qualification recipients, holders of the Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (DipM) from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK, and equivalent qualifications from recognized marketing institutions by the CIMG.
By obtaining this qualification, the awardees were conferred the right to use the designation ProM, signifying their status as CIMG's Professional Marketing certified professionals.
