NLUO introduces standalone course focused on entrepreneurship within the justice system
The Centre for Public Policy, Law, and Good Governance at National Law University Odisha (NLUO) is set to host a unique credit course on Justice Entrepreneurship from August 15-17, 2025. This three-day, offline course is designed for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, offering a practical and engaging experience in real-world justice challenges and legal innovation.
The Justice Entrepreneurship course, priced at INR 1000, is a 16-hour programme that includes presentations and assessments. The course aims to equip students with the skills necessary for user-centered problem-solving, justice-making, and understanding the intersection of law and innovation.
The course curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including Introduction to Justice Entrepreneurship, Identifying Community Challenges, Context-Specific Legal Barriers, Defining Problem Statements, Stakeholders, and understanding Socio-Cultural Influences. Other topics include Understanding existing Justice Entrepreneurs, Introduction to Transect Walk, Participatory Research Techniques for Justice Issues, Identifying Obstacles Citizens face in Accessing Justice, Engaging with Marginalized and Vulnerable Groups, Interpreting Insights for Action, Developing Prototype Solutions, Interdisciplinary Collaboration in Legal Innovation, Peer-to-Peer Learning & Team-Based Projects, Effective Storytelling for Justice Solutions, and Pitching Legal Innovations to Stakeholders.
The course will be taught by esteemed instructors such as Rohit Sharma, Co-Founder of Law Firm Ready and Awaaz Leadership Labs, and Research Assistant at the Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute, Harvard University, and Dimple Singh, Co-Founder of Community of Hope and Support (COHAS) and Facilitator at Awaaz in JI 101.
