New Interrogation System Offers Strategic Approach to Extracting Information
Investigators now have a new tool to extract information from suspects or prisoners. This interrogation system, based on skills like Bluff and Sense Motive, can yield crucial information. Two approaches, Diplomacy and Intimidate, are available, each with its own risks and rewards.
The interrogation check, with a DC of 10 plus the subject's HD and Wisdom modifier, can uncover one piece of information on success. Techniques can be switched to overcome previous failures. Each subsequent check adds a cumulative +2 modifier to the DC. However, after two failures, no more useful information can be gained.
Diplomacy-based interrogations can be enhanced with bribery, providing a +10 circumstance bonus. Yet, this method carries a 25% chance of false information. On the other hand, Intimidation can escalate to torture, also granting a +10 bonus, but with a cumulative 10% chance of false information per use.
The new interrogation system offers investigators a strategic approach to extracting information. However, it's crucial to weigh the benefits against the risks, such as the potential for false information, especially when employing methods like bribery or torture.
