Juliana's affection for Ladybug is so profound that she prefers it over other toys, like beach balls. She sleeps with Ladybug, carries it around, and often uses it as an eating companion. The doll has even become a motivational tool for Juliana, as when she does well on a task at school, she can earn a new Ladybug doll as a reward. Last year, Juliana received two Ladybug dolls as gifts, and this year, her Santa list from school included a new one. Despite the Busy Lil' Ladybug, the original model no longer being in production, replacements are being found to keep the special bond between Juliana and Ladybug alive. When she communicates using her augmentative and alternative communication device (AAC), one of the first things she requests is Ladybug.
