MIT retains top position in 11 subjects according to QS World University Rankings for 2025
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has once again proven its academic excellence, as it clinched the top spot in 11 subject areas according to the QS World University Rankings 2025. The organization announced these results today.
In these 11 subject areas, MIT emerged as the leading institution in Chemical Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering, Computer Science and Information Systems, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Linguistics, Materials Science, Mechanical, Aeronautical, and Manufacturing Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, and Statistics and Operational Research.
Furthermore, MIT ranked second in seven subject areas: Accounting and Finance, Architecture/Built Environment, Biological Sciences, Business and Management Studies, Chemistry, Earth and Marine Sciences, and Economics and Econometrics.
