Kazakhstan's STEM Academia Send Representatives to International Olympiad Final
The International STEM Olympiad will welcome Kazakhstan's STEM Academia as the country's representative in the grand finale, to be held in Barcelona. This prestigious event encourages participation and fosters the development of future engineers, computer programmers, and researchers in the STEM field.
Last year, the Olympiad attracted participation from over 260 students and 78 teams from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. The competition covered various disciplines, including robotics, engineering, programming, and 3D modeling. Eight promising students from Pavlodar, Astana, and Almaty were selected to represent their country in this year's final.
Dating back nine years, the Olympiad initially hosted only 20 participants. Today, the event receives over 2000 applications, and approximately 800 students qualify to participate, all through collaboration with the city's akimat, Astana Innovations, and "Astana Daryny". Director of STEM Academia Zhalqargab MURATALIY expressed his pride in the team's qualification for the international final for the first time.
Similarly, Zhanar BEISENBAYEVA, the head of the Center for Work with Gifted Children and Youth "Astana Daryny", acknowledged their constant collaboration with STEM Academia and noted the importance of supporting gifted youth, especially in the realm of artificial intelligence development.
In recent years, Kazakhstan has demonstrated a strong presence and notable successes in international STEM competitions. For instance, the Kazakh national team accumulated six medals, including three silver and three bronze, at the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad held in Sarajevo. Moreover, throughout the academic year, students from Kazakh schools have consistently excelled in various national and international Olympiads, further highlighting the country's advancements in the STEM field.
The International STEM Olympiad offers a stage for students to demonstrate their talents and skills in STEM-related disciplines. As Kazakhstan's representatives ready themselves for the grand finale, they carry the hopes of their country and the promises of their talent to represent the nation's academic excellence.
The International STEM Olympiad serves as a platform for the students, including those from Kazakhstan's STEM Academia, to showcase their learning and talent in STEM-related disciplines, such as education-and-self-development. In the upcoming event in Barcelona, these representatives aim to uphold Kazakhstan's impressive record in international STEM competitions, further progressing stem-education within the nation.
