Leipzig & TU Dresden Launch ExciteLab Accelerator for High-Tech Startups

Leipzig SpinLab and Technical University of Dresden have joined forces to launch ExciteLab, a new accelerator program set to commence in October 2024. Backed by prominent companies like Infineon, Mazars, and ZEISS, this six-month initiative aims to bolster the region's competitiveness and attract international talent.

ExciteLab is an offshoot of TUD|excite, the Center of Excellence for Innovation, Transfer, and Entrepreneurship at TU Dresden. It offers a comprehensive package to participating startups, including one-on-one mentoring, networking opportunities, pilot programs, and industry events. The program is designed to support high-tech startups, with funding of at least 6,000 euros available.

The Deutsche Telekom Stiftung is at the helm of this project, which focuses on key technologies such as IoT, semiconductors, robotics, sensors, and quantum computing. By fostering innovation in these areas, ExciteLab seeks to enhance Dresden's appeal to international talents and investors, further cementing its status as an economic and innovation hub.

The launch of ExciteLab marks a significant milestone in Dresden's development, providing a space for creative-technical know-how and young companies to thrive. With its robust support system and focus on cutting-edge technologies, ExciteLab is poised to drive the region's competitiveness and shorten the time from idea to market readiness.
