Jay Wyatt, a seasoned archivist with over 14 years of experience in managing and preserving congressional records, has been appointed as the Acting Director of the Center for Legislative Archives at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
Wyatt's journey in the world of congressional records began prior to joining NARA, where he served as the Executive Director of the Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History and Education from 2018 to 2021. Before that, he held the position of the Byrd Center's Director of Programs and Research from 2013 to 2018.
In his current role at the Center for Legislative Archives, Wyatt is responsible for leading the preservation and access of records of the legislative branch, including the Records of the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and numerous historically significant congressional commissions.
