Karlsruhe School Wins 30,000 Euro Democracy Education Prize

The Ernst-Reuter-Community School in Karlsruhe has been recognized for its exceptional commitment to democracy education. Minister of Culture Theresa Schopper praised the school, awarding it the Theme Prize Democracy Education worth 30,000 euros.

The school's approach to democracy education combines responsibility, participation, and media competence. Students engage in projects such as visiting senior homes and regular discussions on school and societal topics. This inclusive environment promotes diversity, with approximately 370 students and 40 teachers.

The school's commitment to student involvement is evident in its previous awards. In 2024, it received the Democracy Education Thematic Prize of the German School Award for its democratic culture and student participation in organizing school events and interactive discussions. Prior to this, the school was honored with the Baden-Württemberg Democracy Prize in 2024.

The Ernst-Reuter-Community School in Karlsruhe has once again been recognized for its outstanding efforts in democracy education. The Theme Prize Democracy Education is a testament to the school's dedication to teaching and living democracy, involving students in the process.
