Job Fair at Cerritos College Scheduled for Thursday, October 2nd

Cerritos College is set to host its semi-annual Job Fair on Thursday, October 2, inviting job seekers to connect with over 30 employers from various industries at the Cerritos College Student Center in Norwalk.

The Job Fair, running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., will see employers from healthcare, sales, retail, and government/public sectors in attendance. Organisers encourage attendees to dress in professional business attire and bring multiple copies of their resumes. On-site resume assistance will also be provided.

Additional information, including a campus map, can be found at www.cerritos.edu/guide or www.cerritos.edu/google-map. Parking will be available at no cost in Lot 1.

This Job Fair is part of Cerritos College's ongoing efforts to enhance student success, particularly for the Hispanic/Latinx community. In 2018, the college secured a $3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to improve Hispanic students' enrollment, performance, and graduation rates.

The college's dedication to student success was further demonstrated in October 2018, when the Cerritos College Faculty Senate unanimously passed a resolution supporting student success and academic programs, including counseling.

However, recent developments have seen faculty planning to rally before a Board of Trustees meeting in April 2022, due to an impasse in negotiations that have been ongoing for more than fifteen months. As of April 2022, Cerritos College has a 36% unrestricted reserve - $41.8 million - which is $36 million more than the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office requirement.

Job seekers attending the Job Fair can connect with employers, discuss current openings, and submit applications. The Job Fair will take place at the Cerritos College Student Center, located at 1110 Alondra Boulevard in Norwalk. For more information, visit www.cerritos.edu.
