Italiansmall and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are thwarted by a deficiency in vision and leadership.
In an effort to foster a generation that can drive GDP growth in the next 20 years, historical trainer Corrado Fontana has announced a scholarship program aimed at developing skills and leadership in young people from challenging backgrounds. The scholarships, worth a total of 100,000 euros, will be awarded to 20 individuals and will focus on both professional and personal development.
Fontana, who has been dedicated to commercial training for years, believes that a lack of vision is the most difficult obstacle for Italian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to overcome. This lack of long-term planning is often an insurmountable limit for these businesses, according to Fontana. He emphasizes the need for courage, training, and the ability to imagine scenarios beyond the individual enterprise.
Italian SMEs employ over 16 million people, representing approximately 78% of total private sector employment, and generate 40% of the national added value. However, they face several obstacles to their growth, including competition, bureaucracy, difficulty accessing credit, and a lack of vision.
Fontana's scholarship program is designed to address this issue by fostering a new generation of players in Italian SMEs. The focus is not just on numerical investment, but also on human investment for a generational change in these businesses. The scholarships will be awarded by Fontana and will be hosted by public entities.
The scholarships aim to create a generation that can pick up the baton and project beyond the present's boundaries. By changing the identity of Italian SMEs, the scholarships will work towards creating a constant change in these businesses, helping them to overcome their obstacles and drive growth.
Many Italian SMEs born during the 1960s economic boom struggle with a lack of continuity strategy. Fontana believes that a clear and far-sighted corporate vision is needed, one that goes beyond the lifespan of the entrepreneur. He emphasizes that the real competition for Italian SMEs lies in the ability to share a vision and avoid a future that never truly arrives.
The scholarship program offered by Corrado Fontana supports young talents, aiming to enable them to make significant contributions in their fields over the next 20 years. By providing these individuals with the tools they need to succeed, Fontana hopes to create a generation that can drive GDP growth in the next two decades.
