India's Billionaire Count Surges to Over 350, Led by Bajaj Family

India's wealthiest individuals have seen a significant increase in their fortunes, with the country now boasting over 350 billionaires. The Bajaj family leads the pack, with their wealth surging by Rs. 69,875 crore to Rs. 2.33 lakh crore this year. Meanwhile, Mukesh Ambani retains his position as the richest Indian, with a staggering wealth of Rs. 9.55 lakh crore.

The growth in India's billionaire population has been remarkable, with the country adding one new billionaire every week over the past two years. This year's Forbes India Rich List also saw several notable debuts. Shah Rukh Khan joined the elite club for the first time, with a wealth of Rs. 12,490 crore. Meanwhile, Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma returned to the list with a net worth of Rs. 15,930 crore. The youngest billionaire on the list is Aravind Srinivas, the 31-year-old founder of Perplexity, with a net worth of Rs. 21,190 crore. Gautam Adani and his family follow Ambani, with a wealth of Rs. 8.15 lakh crore.

India's richest individuals added wealth at a rate of Rs. 1,991 crore per day, reflecting the country's robust economic growth.

The surge in India's billionaire population, coupled with the increasing wealth of its richest individuals, underscores the country's economic prowess.
