Say hello to the uncomfortable truth: Meet National Socialism survivors in virtual reality. The mobile exhibition "Reality Check" from Brandenburg, now crisscrossing Germany, brings you closer to Jewish survivors. Sponsored by the Brandenburg Society for Culture and History, this project kicks off at the Brandenburg Gate in Potsdam until May 11th.

The exhibit resides in a moveable truck, visiting town after town. Put on a VR headset, and you'll have face-to-face interactions with five Jewish eyewitnesses, including 96-year-old Ruth Winkelmann. They share their firsthand accounts and tales from the NS era.

Publicist and patron of the tour, Michel Friedman, shares, "As extremism, defiance of human dignity, and violence surge in our present, it's crucial to preserve the past."

Tour across East and West Germany

After Potsdam, the mobile exhibition moves to Halle (Saale) (May 13-16), Zwickau (May 19-23), Erfurt (May 26-30), and Schwerin (June 2-6). Further west German tours are planned for the fall. The event is free.
