Heading to Düsseldorf
In exciting news for the children and young people of Düsseldorf, the city has announced the return of its summer holiday program for 2021. After being prohibited due to regulations last year, the program is now possible with a coronavirus-compliant implementation.
The summer holiday program offers a diverse range of activities, supported by central "highlights" carried out at different locations in the city. One such highlight is the parcourse offered by the Evangelical Youth in Dusseldorf, which includes big jumps and knightly games. Other activities include hamming, sawing, digging, building booths, handling animals, and nature experiences at the Düsseldorf adventure playgrounds.
City Director Burkhard Hintzsche expressed his gratitude to the free carriers and youth associations for putting together a varied and corona-compliant offer. The aim is to enable around 3,500 Düsseldorf children and young people to have beautiful, creative, and affordable holidays, as in the previous year.
Registrations for the program are possible from Saturday, June 12, 10 o'clock, with the respective carriers of the measure. For specific details about registration and costs, it would typically be found on the official websites of the organizations offering these programs or local community centers.
Besides the summer holiday program, Düsseldorf offers a variety of attractions and activities for youth. The Hofgarten, Rhine Tower, Museum Kunstpalast, Little Tokyo, Rheinuferpromenade, Kaiserpfalz Kaiserswerth, and the Japanese Garden in Nord Park are some of the popular spots in the city. For activities specifically designed for youth, programs like city games and sightseeing cruises are available.
One exceptional program is the "Düsseldorfchen" organized by Akki, which requires online booking at www.duesselferia.info. The holiday program consists of one-, two-, or three-week offers in small and fixed groups, daily in a core time of 9 to 16 o'clock. The program includes sports and exercise, art and media, and opportunities for adventure and self-expression. The sports action bus of the city sports association is a highlight of the program, offering archery, football camp, volleyball, and other sports. Participation costs are 35 euros per week and child, but are reduced to 17 euros per week and child for Düsseldorf pass holders.
