Fulda's Biggest Event: Hessentag 2026 Set to Transform City
Fulda is gearing up to host the Hessentag from June 12 to 21, 2026. The city will transform into a vibrant hub with a 2.3-kilometer-long Hessentagsstraße, a vast 92,000 sqm event area, and almost 10,000 additional parking spaces. The state of Hesse is supporting the festival with around two million euros.
The Domplatz in front of the baroque cathedral will become the Domplatz Arena, hosting acts like Best of Spotlight Gala, Roland Kaiser, Sarah Connor, Montez, and Peter Maffay (sold out). Over 1,000 events with free admission are planned. The city invites participation from volunteers, stall operators, artists, and musicians. The exhibition 'On the Trail of Nature' is accepting ideas via yvonne.gaertner(at)fulda.de. Fulda expects the Hessentag to boost trade, gastronomy, tourism, and urban development.
The Hessentag flag was handed over to Fulda by Bad Vilbel on June 22, 2025, marking the start of preparations for the 2026 event. With a wide range of events, performances, and opportunities for participation, the Hessentag promises to be an exciting and inclusive celebration.
