EU Ambassador's Visit to Georgia's Guria Region Boosts Inclusive Development and EU-Georgia Partnership
Pawel Herczynski, the European Union's Ambassador to Georgia, recently undertook a two-day visit to the Guria region. The visit aimed to promote inclusive regional development and strengthen the partnership between Georgia and the EU.
On the first day, Ambassador Herczynski inaugurated 'Bookshelf - European Edition' in Ozurgeti. This project, funded by the EU, aims to strengthen educational and cultural exchange. He also met with local student youth council members and civil society organisations in the city.
The second day of Ambassador Herczynski's visit began with a trip to the village of Tkhintvali, where he attended the opening of an EU-funded Wi-Fi hotspot project. In Tkhintvali, he also held discussions with local journalists and media outlets.
Throughout his visit, Ambassador Herczynski visited several projects in Guria. These projects, funded by the EU, demonstrate the results of the partnership between Georgia and the European Union. He concluded his visit with a meeting with local business leaders and representatives of the 'Green Guria/CENN' and 'Skills4Jobs' initiatives.
Ambassador Herczynski expressed his pleasure at being in Guria and emphasized that the EU is present to support every region, every community, and every citizen of Georgia on its path toward EU membership. He stated that the EU is not distant partners, but are present to support every Georgian citizen.
The civil society representatives, young people, and local businesses engaged in EU-funded programs were also part of Ambassador Herczynski's meetings during his visit. The projects visited by him clearly demonstrate what Georgia and the EU have achieved together.
