Equity Group Sponsors 2025 Kenya National Music Festival, Promoting Cultural Diversity and Wealth Creation
The Kenya National Music Festival is receiving significant support this year, with Equity Group stepping in as a major sponsor. The financial institution is providing Ksh 25 million in financial aid for the event, which is themed 'Enhancing the Creative Economy through Artistic Expression for Sustainable Development'.
Equity Group's sponsorship aligns with its own agenda of 'Securing Lives Transformed and Wealth Created through Life, Health, and Wealth Insurance'. The partnership reflects Equity's commitment to fostering sustainable wealth and creative talent development as part of Kenya's growing gig economy.
Through this sponsorship, Equity Group is encouraging the empowerment of communities through comprehensive insurance solutions. The festival participants who perform under the Equity-sponsored theme are rewarded with monetary prizes and awards.
Boniface Ochieng, a scriptwriter for the festival, focuses on key areas where Equity is involved, such as insurance, education, and healthcare, to help Kenyans grow. His script for Lukenya Academy, titled "Arise and Flap Your Wings", highlights the benefits of health insurance, education cover, property protection, and savings plans.
The poem uses the metaphor of "fluffy wings" to depict Equity Group's insurance and financial services as a nurturing and protective force. This theme complements Equity's theme of 'Securing Lives Transformed and Wealth Created through Life, Health, and Wealth Insurance'.
On the third day of the festival, Lukenya Academy secured third place in the Junior Secondary School's elocution class with "Arise and Flap Your Wings". PCEA Kagema was second with their song titled "The Fluffy Wing". Little Friends Academy from Naivasha won the top spot in the same class with a verse titled "Under the Roof". The school received an invitation for their team to perform at the gala on August 13.
Rapogi Girls, Bamburi School, The Stepping Stones, and Moi Forces Academy of Nairobi were other schools that performed under this class. Boniface Ochieng typically draws ideas from his learners through auditions. He scripted the winning script for Lukenya Academy this year.
"The Fluffy Wings" poem centers on financial literacy, empowerment, and social transformation. Boniface Ochieng's unique approach to scriptwriting is rooted in a psychological perspective.
