In a surprising turn of events, the University of National Autonomous Mexico (UNAM) found itself in a precarious situation today. An explosive device was discovered on the premises of the School of Economics, prompting an immediate evacuation.

The decision to evacuate was made in conjunction with the Secretariat of Prevention and Support for University Mobility and Security. The School of Economics was evacuated in an orderly manner, following institutional security protocols.

The Mexican Army's Explosives Ordinance Disposal unit has taken responsibility for the safety of explosive removal at the UNAM campus. Police officers and specialized personnel are currently inspecting the facilities to detect any explosive devices.

The Task Force Zorros Unit of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) entered the university's facilities for an installation review. The SSC also confirmed the inspection.

In response to the situation, UNAM has taken measures to keep the community informed. The university is now available on WhatsApp for news updates.

Unfortunately, the School of Economics will remain closed until further notice. However, UNAM has assured that activities will resume normally during the evening shift, provided no risk is detected.

Interestingly, this incident coincides with a related article titled "Man Escapes Explosion in Iztapalapa While Looking for His Dog Zeus". Whether there is a connection between the two incidents remains to be seen.

As always, the safety and wellbeing of the UNAM community is the top priority. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available. Stay safe, and we will get through this together.
