Discussion with Rasmus Sojmark about the upcoming Legends Charity Game during the SBC Summit
Rasmus Sojmark, the founder and CEO of SBC, has announced an exciting addition to the SBC Summit 2025 lineup – a star-studded charity soccer game, aptly named the Legends Charity Game. Sojmark, a lifelong soccer fan, never imagined organising such an event, but is thrilled about the opportunity to bring together iconic players, fans, industry professionals, and local communities for a shared moment.
The Legends Charity Game will feature two teams: the Portugal Legends and the World Legends. The Portugal Legends team will see the return of legends like Luís Figo, Deco, Carvalho, Simão, Maniche, Fábio Coentrão, Vitor Baia, Nuno Gomes, and Hélder Postiga. The World Legends team will include stars such as Ronaldinho, Cafu, Peter Schmeichel, Javier Zanetti, and many more.
The game, scheduled for September 15, 2025, will take place in a Portuguese stadium yet to be confirmed. It will serve as a high-profile charity event, with proceeds going to four distinct organisations: the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, the Portuguese Red Cross, International Alert, and an organisation named 'b'. The organisers aim to raise over €1,000,000 from the game.
Peter Schmeichel and Diego Lugano will serve as the managers and assistant manager, respectively, for the Legends Charity Game. The World Legends team will be captained by Georgios Karagounis, but the captain for the Portugal Legends team remains unspecified.
The game is expected to be emotional and genuinely amazing, with a focus on stories, rivalries, and shared memories. Rasmus Sojmark described the event as a way to change the tone of everything that follows at the SBC Summit, not with a handshake, but with heart.
The Legends Charity Game will be televised and streamed with Champions League-level coverage, featuring multiple camera angles. The event is expected to reunite 30,000 delegates at SBC Summit 2025, making it a truly unforgettable occasion.
Additional well-known football legends reported to participate in the game include Kaká, Luís Figo, Alessandro Del Piero, and Patrice Evra (likely Patrice Evra), but captains remain unspecified.
Sojmark emphasized the importance of the Legends Charity Game as part of the SBC Summit event, stating its potential to bring people together and inspire action. The game will open SBC Summit 2025 with purpose, emotion, and meaning, setting the tone for a memorable event.
