Discovering and Delving into the Whimsical World of Concrete Sculptures
In an exciting collaboration between the Museum of Concrete Art (MKK) and students from Reuchlin-Gymnasium, a new digital scavenger hunt has been developed to engage young minds with the world of Concrete Art. The interactive adventure, now available on the MKKD app, was created as part of a project seminar and aims to make Concrete Art more exciting and tangible for youth.
The digital scavenger hunt takes participants on a journey through the public spaces of Ingolstadt, starting at the current location of the museum and ending at the future Museum of Concrete Art and Design (MKKD). Along the way, participants will encounter nine exciting stations located on Tränktorstraße, Konrad-Adenauer-Bridge, Klenzepark, and Donausteg.
Students from Reuchlin-Gymnasium played an active role in the development of the scavenger hunt, contributing ideas on how to present the artworks in an engaging and accessible way for visitors. The MKK provided expertise on Concrete Art and access to their collection, ensuring that the scavenger hunt content was both informative and accurate.
The digital scavenger hunt is designed as an interactive experience, with participants navigating through the museum or its digital platform by solving clues related to specific artworks or artistic concepts within Concrete Art. Multimedia integration, such as images, descriptions, and possibly audio or video content, enriches the experience and provides deeper art appreciation. The educational focus ensures that users not only have fun but also learn about Concrete Art principles, history, and key artists.
The user-friendly interface allows easy access via smartphones or tablets, making it suitable for school groups and general museum visitors. The digital format also opens up new possibilities for collaboration and creative design, as students gained insights into art mediation, from idea generation to technical implementation.
The development of the digital scavenger hunt was supported by the "fabulAPP - Building Blocks for Digital Storytelling in Museums" project of the Bavarian State Office for Non-State Museums, and the "fabulAPP" project is further supported by the Bavarian Sparkassen Foundation.
This modern, collaborative educational tool represents an innovative approach to engaging young people with art, using technology and student creativity to make Concrete Art more approachable and engaging. The digital scavenger hunt is now available for users via the MKKD app, offering a fresh and exciting way to explore the world of Concrete Art.
Participants can expect to gain a deeper understanding of Concrete Art not only through solving clues but also by learning about its principles, history, and key artists, as part of the interactive digital scavenger hunt developed by students from Reuchlin-Gymnasium. This lifestyle-enhancing, education-and-self-development tool, available on the MKKD app, promotes self-directed learning amidst the adventure, enriched by multimedia content and artistic concepts, making the often complex world of Concrete Art more tangible and accessible.
