Creative youths in Kazakhstan can now apply for grants to fund their artistic projects
The Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan has announced the annual "Tauelsizdik Urpaktary" Grant Competition, a state-funded initiative aimed at supporting new ideas and initiatives among the country's youth. This year, the competitive application submission period runs from June 16 to August 18, 2025.
Interested applicants can submit their applications via email to [email protected]. The competition application form is available in PDF format, appended as Appendix-1. The project description, project budget estimate, and intellectual property information (if any) must also be submitted in Word format, with Appendix-2 for the project description and Appendix-3 for the budget estimate. A copy of ID or birth certificate is also required, in PDF format.
This year, the grant competition offers 30 grants of 3 million tenge each at the republican level. Grants will be awarded competitively for projects in six categories: "Science", "Culture", "Information Technologies", "Business", "Media", and "Volunteering".
The "Information Technologies" category is for developing and implementing new IT solutions and projects, while the "Culture" category is for projects aimed at popularizing Kazakhstan's cultural heritage, promoting national cultural traditions and arts. The "Business" category is for implementing new business ideas, the "Media" category is for implementing new media projects, including those creating educational, useful, and interesting content for youth, and the "Volunteering" category is for implementing volunteer projects aimed at addressing current social issues.

While the exact eligibility criteria for this year's competition have not been released, in previous years, the grant has been targeted at young people aged approximately 16 to 29 years old.
