Clearwave Fiber Saves Kansas STARBASE Program with $1,000 Grant
Clearwave Fiber has stepped up to support local education in Salina. The company awarded a $1,000 technology grant to the Kansas STARBASE program, ensuring its continued operation after facing closure earlier this year.
The grant, presented at the 'Mission: Connect and Build' community event on September 23, provides discretionary funds for equipment and educational tools. This will enhance the learning experience for the 1,400 to 1,700 students the program serves annually.
The event was a celebration of community support and engagement in STEM education. It featured hands-on activities, LEGO building contests, and interactive demonstrations. Billie Jones, Site Director for STARBASE Salina, emphasized the importance of community backing. State Senator Elaine Bowers, a board member, also attended, sharing her personal connection to the program.
Clearwave Fiber's donation reflects its commitment to community development and investment in local students' futures. The company, which delivers high-speed internet through its 100% Fiber network, has shown its dedication to supporting local initiatives like the Kansas STARBASE program.
