CII Unveils 'Building India For a New World' Theme for 2020-21
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has unveiled its theme for the year 2020-21, 'Building India For a New World - Lives, Livelihood, Growth'. The theme is guided by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision for the country and emphasizes the importance of a robust healthcare system, digital shift, and sustainability.
CII has proposed strategies to mitigate financial losses and lessen the burden caused by Covid-19. It has formulated a 10-point road map to re-activate growth and navigate India through the impact of the Coronavirus outbreak. The road map prioritizes protecting lives and livelihoods, especially the 80% of employment in the unorganized sector.
CII emphasizes the importance of a robust healthcare system and expansion of e-healthcare and e-education. It acknowledges the shift towards digital and the need for better connectivity and rural education as a long-term change. Managing fiscal deficit and financial stability is highlighted as a key challenge for the country's growth. Sustainability is identified as a crucial aspect for all activities to restore and maintain nature's equilibrium. CII aims to facilitate companies moving operations into India to make it a manufacturing hub.
