Bayraktar reveals 'Kuре' digital reference work during Teknofest launch
In a bold move, the Teknofest Management Board Chairman, Selçuk Bayraktar, announced the launch of a new AI-supported, open-source digital encyclopedia named "Küre." This announcement comes as Teknofest, already recognised as the world's largest technology festival, expands its horizons with 64 competitions, including 13 new ones.
Küre is positioned as a counter to biased global digital platforms, aiming to provide an unbiased, trustworthy alternative to global search engines and encyclopedias. As of the announcement, Küre already features nearly 50,000 articles, a testament to its reliability as a source of knowledge and a channel for truth.
Bayraktar expressed concern about the world drifting into a state of injustice and disregard for human dignity. He decried the weaponization of everyday technologies and the "spider web" of surveillance they create. In response, the Teknofest generation has taken action, creating platforms like NSosyal, a free platform for idea production, and now, Küre.
Küre's development is built upon the foundation laid by NSosyal. Teknofest is preparing Turkey for future challenges by fostering a generation that designs rather than consumes technology. Bayraktar emphasized the purpose of Teknofest's efforts as inspiring youth to turn their dreams into reality.
Teknofest is more than just a festival. Bayraktar portrayed it as a bold rejection of "centuries-old imitative slumber and learned helplessness." He emphasized that Teknofest is a platform for innovation, a place where ideas are born and dreams are realised.
Moreover, Bayraktar warned that everyday technologies are at risk of being weaponized and used for surveillance. He urged vigilance and warned against complacency in the face of such threats.
In the face of these challenges, Küre stands as a beacon of hope. A reliable source of information, a platform for open discussion, and a testament to the power of innovation and the spirit of Teknofest. The organization announced by Bayraktar, chairman of the Teknofest management board, is not just another digital platform. It is a statement, a declaration of digital independence, a crucial frontline in the struggle for full sovereignty.
