Fifty-nine contestants have been approved for the 2025 elections, with Mayor Andre Dickens being one of the sixteen currently-serving office-holders.

In the upcoming 2025 Atlanta City Council elections, a total of 59 candidates will be vying for various positions. This election marks a significant opportunity for change and continuity, as all seats, including the mayor's and the city council president's, are up for grabs.

For the Post 2 At-Large seat, incumbent Matt Westmoreland is seeking re-election. In District 6, Alex Wan, also an incumbent, is the sole candidate. District 8 is represented by Mary Norwood, another incumbent. District 5's seat will be contested by Liliana Bakhtiari, the incumbent. Eshé Collins, the incumbent for Post 3 At-Large, is another candidate seeking re-election.

In the race for the city council president post, Marci Collier Overstreet, an incumbent, and Rohit Malhotra are the contenders. District 10's seat will be filled by Andrea Boone, an incumbent, while District 9 will see a contest between Dustin Hillis, another incumbent, and Charles Bourgeois. District 4 will have a competitive race between Jason Dozier, an incumbent, and Deborah "Sister" Williams.

Jason Winston, an incumbent, is the lone candidate for District 1. District 7 has a crowded field with five candidates: Jamie Anne Christy, Allen Daly, Thad Flowers, Rebecca King, and Thomas Worthy.

District 11, which encompasses the Ben Hill, Deerwood, and Huntington neighbourhoods, saw 10 people qualify for the election. The district's candidates include Andre Burgin, Curt Collier, Stephen Dingle, Harold Maurice Hardnett, Toni Belin-Ingram, Nate Jester, Keith A. Lewis, Jr., Wayne Martin, Reginald Rushin, and Sherry B. Williams.

The mayor's seat will see Andre Dickens, an incumbent, face challenges from Helmut Domagalski, Kalema Jackson, and Eddie Andrew Meredith.

In District 2, Kelsea Bond, William Jacob Chambers, Alex Bevel Jones, Rod Mack, Courtney Smith, and James White III are the candidates. District 12 will have a three-way contest between Antonio Lewis, an incumbent, Stephanie Flowers, and Delvin D. Davis.
