400 Young People Boosted by Career Mentoring Project's Interview Training
Nearly 400 young people have benefited from a career mentoring project's training program this year. The project, which has been cooperating with schools for almost 15 years, offers individual support and practical interview training to help young people prepare for the job market.
In a recent session at Elisabeth-Selbert School in Zierenberg, 10 volunteer career mentors conducted a 'Fit for Job Interviews' training session. A total of 64 students practiced interview skills in a real-life setting, with volunteers providing feedback on application materials and personal presentation. The project also offers individual support through 'tandem' partnerships for apprenticeship searches. Volunteers find their commitment rewarding, thanks to regular training and reflection sessions. Young people appreciate the support, with one student commenting, 'I had never had a job interview before. It's good to know how it works, and now I know what I can improve.'
The career mentoring project is funded by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration, with the coordination of the project handled by an unnamed individual. It aims to equip young people with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in job interviews and secure apprenticeships.
