2025's NRA Youth Education Summit Offers Scholarships and Leadership Insights
The 2025 NRA Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.), held in Washington, D.C., concluded with a formal awards dinner where Tom DeBolt, CEO of Benelli USA, was the keynote speaker. DeBolt addressed the audience on leadership, personal responsibility, and service to country.
The week-long summit, focused on leadership development, civic engagement, and education on American history and government, provided a unique opportunity for rising juniors and seniors in high school. Activities during the summit included a guided tour of the NRA National Firearms Museum, a question-and-answer session with NRA leadership, a mock Friends of NRA event, and live-fire opportunities on the NRA Range.
Students also visited historical sites such as Capitol Hill, George Washington's Mount Vernon, the National Archives Museum, the National Museum of the United States Army, and Arlington National Cemetery. A signature component of Y.E.S. is the mock debate series, where students research, prepare, and compete in formal debate sessions. Participants are evaluated on their performance, leadership, collaboration, and engagement.
At the conclusion of the summit, $20,000 in End-of-Week Scholarships were awarded to 10 students. Specific recipients and the exact amount of money awarded per student cannot be confirmed based on the current information. However, it is known that Campbell B. (Texas) received a $2,000 scholarship, Mary C. (Wash.) received a $3,000 scholarship, and three students received $4,000 scholarships each. Julian F. (Ohio), Jacob S. (R.I.), Elie A. (Va.), Sam P. (Maine), and Aydri R. (Ind.) were among the recipients.
In addition, more than $10,000 in additional scholarship funding will be awarded through the NRA Youth Education Summit Grand Scholarship. Participants can apply for this scholarship by leading community outreach efforts that promote NRA safety and education programs.
Applications for the 2026 Youth Education Summit will open in Fall 2025, with the next session scheduled for July 2026. For more information or to apply, visit yes.nra.org. The summit was funded in part by The NRA Foundation.
During the formal awards dinner, participants shared their reflections on the transformative experience. At Arlington National Cemetery, students participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, marking a poignant end to the week of immersive learning experiences.
