2025-26 CBSE Class 11 Syllabus Unveiled: Access Subject-Specific PDFs for Free Downloading

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has unveiled the updated syllabus for Class 11 students for the academic year 2025-26. The new syllabus focuses on competency-based learning, project work, and technology integration, aiming to promote practical and application-oriented education.

The updated syllabus is divided across three streams: Science, Commerce, and Humanities/Arts.

In the Science stream, subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, and English Core will be taught. The syllabus emphasises practical understanding, inquiry-based methods, and project work in Physics and Chemistry. Biology focuses on competency-based topics with hands-on activities, while Mathematics integrates logical reasoning and applied knowledge. The new elective Computer Science offers subjects like Artificial Intelligence.

The Commerce stream includes Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, and English Core. These subjects focus on practical applications relevant to commerce studies with updated internal assessments reflecting continuous evaluation.

The Humanities/Arts stream offers subjects such as History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, and English Core/Elective. The History syllabus is divided into four broad themes, with a focus on map work and project components. The Geography, Political Science, Sociology, and Psychology syllabi also emphasise community, public affairs, and inquiry-based learning.

The syllabus now promotes competency-based learning and reduced emphasis on rote memorisation. It also introduces new electives such as Artificial Intelligence and Entrepreneurship. Greater focus is given to practical projects, hands-on learning, and internal assessments, which carry more weight. Some topics have been removed for simplification and to make learning more student-friendly.

The syllabus for each subject, including the course structure, marks weightage, and other important details, is available for free download in PDF format from CBSE's official website and associated educational portals. The syllabus for English Core/Elective consists of two PDFs.

This updated syllabus is significant as it forms the foundation for Class 12 and competitive exams like JEE, NEET, CUET, etc. It is designed to help students plan their schedule effectively to cover the curriculum by the end of the year and to understand the updated curriculum and avoid studying deleted topics.

In summary, the CBSE Class 11 syllabus 2025-26 offers a balanced, updated, and practical curriculum across all streams to enhance application-oriented learning and continuous assessment. The syllabus for Class 11 is available for free download, helping students prepare effectively for their academic journey ahead.

In the updated syllabus for Class 11 students, education and self-development are prioritized through the introduction of competency-based learning, project work, and technology integration, promoting practical and application-oriented education. The learning opportunities are diverse, with each stream offering subjects that cater to different interests, such as Artificial Intelligence in the Science stream, updated internal assessments in Commerce studies, and community-focused learning in Humanities/Arts.
